Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) Dose Table for every 6 - 8 hours
NEVER GIVE TO INFANTS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD

24 - 35	1 tsp (5 ml)

60 - 71	2 1/2 tsp (12.5 ml)
72 +	3 tsp (15 ml)

*Children 12 years and older may take the adult strength (25 mg) Benegryl 1 to 2 tablets every 4 - 6 hours.

12-23 months	Liquid 5mg/5ml	inially 2.5mg (1/2 teaspoon) once daily. May be increased to twice a day.
2-5 years	Liquid 5mg/5ml	inially 2.5 mg (1/2 teaspoon) once daily. May be increased to a maximum of 5 mg a day either in a single dose or divided into two doses.
6 years or older	Chewable 5 or 10mg Tablet 5mg or 10mg	Children 6 years or older: 5-10mg/day as a single dose or divided into 2 dose

 

6-12 months	Liquid 5mg/5ml	2.5mg (1/2 teaspoon once a day)
12-23 months	Liquid 5mg/5ml	Initially 2.5mg (1/2 teaspoon) once daily. May be increased to twice a day.
2-5 years	Liquid 5mg/5ml	5mg or 1 teaspoon once daily
2-5 years	5mg chewable tab	5mg or 1 teaspoon once daily
6 years or older	10mg tablet	10 mg or 1 tablet once daily

When to Use. Treatment of allergic reactions, nasal allergies, hives and itching.
