Adolescent Physicals
What is an adolescent physical?
A yearly well adolescent exam is very important. Teens are presented with choosing safe or high risk situations each day. Counseling during this visit is very important as they undergo rapid growth and physical changes.
When does my child have to fill out screenings?
Developmental screens are extremely important to assess delay and or problems that could arise in the future.
Why is the parent asked to leave the room?
We ask permission to speak to your teen alone for part of the visit. Teens may tell us things they are afraid or embarrassed to speak about in front of their parents. We let them know that they can tell us anything. This is not mandatory and if a parent does not want to leave the room, we honor that.
What if my child is sick during their physical?
When your child is ill during a well visit or there is an issue that requires more exam time, we would like to reschedule your well visit. We know there are many circumstances where rescheduling is not possible in that particular situation we address your concerns and complete the well visit.This will require a copay.
